2017 NECO June/July SSCE Results Statistics

Soon after the release of the 2017 June/July NECO SSCE results the Registrar, Professor Charles Uwakwe, announced the performance of participants in the exam.
Professor Charles Uwakwe, while announcing the result at the council's headquarters in Niger State's capital, Minna, said 754,053 candidates representing 70.85% of the 1,051,472 that sat for the exam got at least five credits, including core subjects; English Language and Mathematics.

He said that 947,850 candidates had five credits and above irrespective of Mathematics and English Language, he also said that the figure represented 1.63% improvement of the 2016 result.

In the same vein, he said that 903,360 candidates had credits in English Language, while 849,335 candidates had credit in General Mathematics.

He explained that 50,586 candidates, representing 4.81% of candidates, were in involved in examination malpractice.

Prof. Uwakwe said the performance represented 1.11% improvement in candidate's performance compared with the 2016 results.


  1. Why are we still having such a higher percentage of Examination malpractices in the country with the introduction of the CBT.

    1. It's very obvious that students of nowadays spend much time on irrelevances rather than focusing on their education.
      Am average Nigerian student prefer engaging in exam mal rather than studying wholeheartedly.
